Continuing Care Unit

Continuing Care Unit at Bluffton Regional Medical Center

There is truly no place like home, but sometimes supervised recovery from illness or surgery is needed, even if patients no longer require full acute hospital care. Bluffton Regional Medical Center has a solution that can feel a little closer to home. Our Continuing Care unit provides post-hospital care in a relaxed, homelike setting with a primary focus to ready patients for a return home or placement within an appropriate community facility. Helping toward that goal is a complete team of health care professionals, including R.N.s, CNAs and social workers. Our rehabilitation team provides intensive therapy to meet each resident's personal goals, and a physician is readily available for consultation and treatment and serves as an integral part of the care team.

Our 13-bed unit is licensed by the state of Indiana and certified by Medicare to provide skilled nursing care. The Continuing Care Center is also a member of the Indiana Association of Homes and Services for the Aging and the American Association of Homes for the Aging. Most residents stay an average of 11-13 days.

We have placed the unit on the hospital's first floor, allowing convenient and immediate access to acute care facilities, laboratory tests, rehabilitation services, X-rays and other diagnostic and therapeutic services. Residents are encouraged to wear their own clothing and photos and other personal items from home are welcomed to make their stay more pleasant. Visitation is open to friends and relatives.

  • 24-hour nursing care
  • full hospital services
  • IV and respiratory therapy
